A Prayer Worth Saying
What kind of life do I wish to lead? More importantly, who do I want to be? In a practice of visualization, transformation, and manifestation, I’ve decided to align my current self-image with my ideal one.
First, let me write down how I’d like to be. Then, we will rewrite everything in the present tense. Once again, I will break it down into the five dimensions of my life: Physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.
Of course, the financial and legendary aspects might also rear their heads.
Physically, I am flexible, fit, and durable. Durable, in the sense that I can endure greatly increasing hardship and discomfort. Fit, as I have the mental fortitude and stamina to achieve both effort and relaxation as needed.
Flexible, as I am capable of epic adaptations, shifting around to meet any challenge toe-to-toe. I might not win every battle at any damn cost, but I always show up, regularly, every single time, and put up one hell of a fight.
Mentally, I am sharp, calm, and agile. Sharp, as I can see clearly, listen, and focus efficiently to find solutions to the right problem at the right time. Calm, as I can move toward the necessary goal without being deterred. Detached, yet fully engaged.
Agile, I can change my strategy and opinions based on new information. I let my endless curiosity guide me while staying grounded, anchoring myself through action.
Emotionally, I am awake, alive, and assembled. All three qualities come together through the highest mountains and lowest valleys. I find peace in turmoil, joy in sadness, and love in hate.
My heart is the stage for endless conflicts, paradoxes, and extremes, connecting horrors to the heavens on Earth. To grieve in celebration, be aware in meditation, and be sane in utter madness is to live as a human.
All this to pay heed to my life’s poetic wonders. Yet, I’m free, happy, and unserious. Not concerned with who I am and how I look, I simply do what’s right because I feel like it. Work hard for its own sake, with no expectations or rewards, and be utterly content.
I’m grateful, simplistic, and selfless. Joyful, funny, and melodic. Jolly, merry, and mischievous. Playful, empty, and engaged. Healthy, comfy, and confident. Brave, loving, and hilarious!
Socially, I am gregarious, kind, and understanding. I also fight for justice with the ribbons of love. I listen to people, make them feel heard, and hold space for them to be who they are.
By and large, I leave them better than I found them, no matter who they may be. I take a step back to let others shine. I applaud them so they can smile. I love brightening days and warming hearts.
Through their salvation, I find my own. Their freedom frees my soul. Financially, I always go for the win-win. Sacrifices are beautiful and important, but only exist in freedom and are rarely necessary.
I earn by uplifting others. I create out of love and share to offer value. I find solutions to problems worth solving and effortlessly thrive in abundance. I learn, try, fail, and grow. I slip, fall, dust off, and try once more. Relentless am I in value creation.
My humor and laughter lighten the load. My burning ambition brightens the road. Within and without, I only feel grateful. I make a fool of myself and laugh, for it is the path to progress.
My legacy is one of celebration, inspiration, and connection. I inspire people to be braver, stronger, and loving. They celebrate life because of my work, from the highest highs to the lowest lows.
I uplift the downtrodden and ground the blissful ones. They remember their connection to each other and the world, even embracing the cursed hell-divers who lie impossibly out of reach from heaven and Earth.
Through me, they remember that the drama was the goal, that peace is an endless pursuit, and that evil must be allowed to exist.
