Taking a Break

I've decided to take a break instead of quitting. I still want to do all those things and give my dreams a real shot. I also want to do it my way. So I will let my vices consume me. Although I tell myself that I will do this and that even tomorrow onwards, I wouldn't be surprised if I fail miserably. I'm not myself under influence.

Are Dreams Useless? I doubt I'm the only one with big dreams. I reckon almost everyone had something grand in their lives that they wanted to achieve. What Have We Learned?

It's been a few days since I fell off my latest productivity push. I want to take the time to prepare a real after-action report. So far, I've just been spinning around in circles, it seems, so let's just start noting this down to get some perspective.  The Current Situation First off, there's no avoiding the fact that I have BPD. I did experience significant neglect as a child, and that continues to affect me. No matter what I try, I can't shake this core trauma of being a burden to my caregivers, a relationship I repeat with everyone I meet.  What happens when a child feels unwanted and ignored? They grow comfortable with disappearing and are overly sensitive to judgment, rejection, and criticism. I've found that I'm far more at peace with simply numbing myself with viceral pleasures and shutting myself out from the world. Being seen means risking pain and suffering. What do I want again?

Today, I sit down once again after who knows how many months to just go through the motions again. I had this notion that I wanted to start working on a specific idea of mine and finish it. I started writing a book called How To Live, which I should honestly get back to, now that I mention it. Life has a funny way about it. It guides you, pulls you, and calls you toward certain directions. It becomes clear that these are particularly crucial for the living creature to pursue. Then, the same great ineffable forces do everything imaginable to distract you from those very things, like a strange game of reverse chicken.  It's clear to me now, as in my quietest of moments, that I'd love nothing more than to make fictional stories. Stories that can be experienced visually, so they may be experienced universally, and create a powerful impact.
